Environmental explorations are activities that increase learners awareness of and knowledge about the environment. These could be such activities as recycling and conserving water, or something more scientific in nature such as water quality measurements, temperature and precipitation measurements, or examining the characteristics of soil composition. With either of these scenarios, the learner has the opportunity to actively engage in authentic real-world experiences that shape their understanding of the world around them and give them ownership in the development of a sense of environmental stewardship. Below you will see examples of what this might look like in the field.

Field Explorations:

1.) Freshwater Macro invertebrates
2.) Water Quality Testing
3.) Journal Observations
4.) Tree Health
5.) Tree Ring Stories
6.) Temperature and Precipitation
